About Me

I’m Dr. LaDonna Butler—a National Healing & Cultural Strategist and Licensed Clinical Counselor.

For more than two decades, my work has centered on how care actually functions in everyday life—inside families, organizations, and public systems—and what happens when it doesn’t. I work alongside people and institutions navigating complexity, strain, and transition, especially in the quiet places where burnout builds, trust thins, and individuals begin carrying what systems were meant to hold.

I approach care as infrastructure. Connection isn’t incidental to this work—it’s what allows people and systems to function over time. When care breaks down, isolation grows, participation narrows, and responsibility is pushed onto individuals in ways systems were meant to prevent.

My work centers care, repair, belonging, and wellbeing as shared, strategic concerns—designed to support steadiness, participation, and long-term endurance. This work spans care delivery, systems design, cultural connection, and long-term stewardship, each held with intention and guided by a shared commitment to building a safer, more just, and more joyful world.

Our work is intentional.

We begin with a simple understanding: care is a condition created—or neglected—by systems.

When care is designed well, people can participate, stay connected, and remain well.

When care is treated as something individuals are responsible for managing on their own, people burn out. Strain builds quietly. Trust erodes. Isolation becomes normal. Over time, people are asked to carry what families, organizations, and institutions were meant to hold.

Connection is the infrastructure that makes care possible. Without it, even well-intended systems fail. With it, care, repair, belonging, and wellbeing can be sustained over time.

From this understanding, our work is organized around four interconnected elements:

  • Care is how support shows up in real, lived ways. It must be intentional, shared, and accessible—not dependent on individual sacrifice or overextension.

    Where it is held:
Care is practiced through The Well, where clinical care, healing-centered services, training, and supervision meet people where they are.

  • Repair addresses what has been strained, worn down, or neglected. It happens early, before breakdown becomes crisis, and focuses on restoring steadiness rather than assigning blame.

    Where it is held:
Repair work lives within Butler Consulting Group, where organizations and institutions receive support to redesign systems so care is shared and sustainable.

  • Belonging is not symbolic. It is the ability to participate and remain connected over time—without having to earn one’s place through exhaustion or silence.

    Where it is held:
Belonging is cultivated through A Brunch of Us, which creates cultural and relational spaces that restore connection and interrupt isolation.

  • Wellbeing is not a program or a perk. It is the outcome of systems that function with care and connection over time—making safety, joy, and endurance possible.

    Where it is held:
Long-term wellbeing is stewarded through The Well Foundation, which sustains the work through resources, partnerships, and long-range investment.

How it All fits Together

Each initiative holds a clear role, guided by a shared commitment to care, repair, belonging, and wellbeing.

Care is delivered.
Repair is designed.
Belonging is cultivated.
Wellbeing is sustained.
Learning is shared across the field.

This is how the work moves from principle to practice—without confusion, overlap, or placing the burden on individuals to hold what systems should share.

How to Engage With Me

People come to this work at different moments—sometimes with a clearly defined need, and sometimes with the sense that something important isn’t holding the way it should.

There are several ways to engage with my work. Each path is distinct, but all are guided by the same commitment: designing care, repair, belonging, and wellbeing so people and systems can endure—together.
